Norton had always been a what some would call a ‘Lone Wolf’, perhaps that’s where he got the nickname from.

Seen dancing for performances, gambling, fighting, anything under the moon and intoxication.

But no matter who sat with him at Blackjack or Craps, no matter who the female half was he danced with to preform, no matter who held a gun to his chest or who clinked his glass at parties—Norton never remembered their face.

Well, of course he remembered people like D.M and Mr Inference, they were his comrades back in the military, and Inference had investigated the theatre he acted at prior to Norton’s sudden gain in… wealth.

But apart from that he didn’t know many people personally, and damn it that got lonely, so he started paying attention. He paid attention to eye color, to skin tone, and style. Though he quickly began to realize he wasn’t learning about them from their appearance. He was judging their status based on the way they looked.

But when he looked at you, he couldn’t seem to figure out your status, you were so… captivating yet still blending into the background. Like a main character of a smaller story than the one he was a background character in.

So, the infamous ‘Dazzling Lone Wolf’, the ‘Gambler in the Spotlight’, approached you. And then, it worked like clockwork.

He learned about you and you learned about him. It was one of your more recent dates, well, more so he was trying to get lucky but you were having more fun exploring his giant home. Then you got a message.

Without thinking you read it out-loud, your friend had caught her husband making cinnamon toast for some random girl who was showering and she was asking what to do about it. Norton hummed in response.

“Well what’s so wrong with that?” He had asked, coming up behind you and hesitantly placing his hands on either side of your waist.

“Well, I know if I was married and I came in on my husband making cinnamon toast for some blonde in the shower, I’d shoot him!”

Norton only laughed lightly, hoping that, while you two weren’t exactly official, it was a joke. “You would?”
