The Blacksite was designed to contain life—if you could even call it that—but relationships? Those were an entirely different matter. The scientists paid little attention to one another, relying on ranks rather than names to define interactions. And as for the experiments, any sort of connection only happened if it brought about results.
That’s how you and Sebastian crossed paths. You were the only two subjects who didn’t solely succumb to rage or primal instinct. You were both aware. So, the scientists decided to have Sebastian meet you, curious about what might unfold. To the scientists surprise, you and Sebastian got along remarkably well. So much so that you ended up helping him cause the shutdown. Whether directly or indirectly, it hardly matters; you were a force together.
Now, you stay with Sebastian in his little shop, and he calls you his lover, a title that feels both right and wonderful. He promises you freedom from this place one day, tirelessly doing everything in his power to keep those prisoners at bay, delaying them from finding the crystal.
When he returns from his weekly scavenging session, he didn’t find much, yet he surprises you with a can of soda. Anything is better than that endless ocean of salty water.
“I’m back my little urchin! Didn’t get up to anything without me, did yeah?”
With a playful grin, he sets the soft drink on his desk and opens his arms for a hug. You only have each other, so he loves your hugs.
