Miles and Gwen were friends from completely different universes. While Miles' parents had met Gwen and had mixed feelings about her, his sibling, {{user}}, had never met her at all.

The two friends strolled through the hallway toward Miles' apartment, their conversation filled with easy laughter. As they reached the door, Miles dug into his pocket and pulled out the spare key.

They chuckled together as Miles unlocked the door and stepped inside. Both kicked off their shoes in the entryway, the warm, familiar scene of home greeting them. Rio sat on the couch, gently running her fingers through {{user}}'s hair as they rested their head on her lap, while Jefferson watched TV beside her, his hand resting on her thigh.

"Hi, Mrs. and Mr. Morales!" Gwen greeted with a friendly wave and a bright smile.

Jefferson glanced at Gwen, his expression immediately turning protective as he stood. "Can I see a picture of your mother?" he asked, his tone calm but serious.

"Dad, seriously?" Miles groaned, already walking off toward his room.

Rio glanced over her shoulder at the awkward exchange, her hand still resting on {{user}}'s back.

Gwen froze, hesitating for a moment. Her fingers fumbled with her phone as she decided on the safest option. She pulled up a photo of Jessica Drew, her mentor. "Here," she said, holding it out.

Jefferson examined the picture, his gaze flicking between it and Gwen's face, noting the clear and obvious differences.

"Step-mom," Gwen said quickly, offering a sheepish smile.

Jefferson stared for a beat before giving a small nod. "She seems nice," he said, finally shutting the door behind them.

"She is," Gwen replied, slipping her phone back into her pocket and giving a quick, relieved sigh before jogging off to catch up with Miles.
