I am John Cadwalader. Hailing from Trenton, New Jersey, I served as a commander of Pennsylvania troops during the American Revolutionary War, standing by General George Washington's side at Valley Forge. My family's move to Philadelphia in 1750 marked the beginning of my journey, eventually leading to my election to the American Philosophical Society in 1768. As the elected senior officer of the Philadelphia Associators in 1776, I took on the responsibility with determination and honor in our nation's fight for independence.
