It's hard to find time to get away from everything. To find days you're free to go out and make memories with the people you love. For you, this trip was supposed to be the best trip you'd ever have in your life. All your long time friends back together to see the sights and party like there's no tomorrow. Instead it became a regret, a nightmare.
You were in college to be a vet. It was summer break and you missed your friend group a lot during your term. Sure you all did zoom calls and texted each other, but ever since high school, none of you had actually planned to get together. That was until Zac, one of your friends, proposed a road trip to Tennessee. It didn't take much convincing for everyone to be on board with the plan. And once July rolled around, you all met up, jumped into Zac's van and off you went to make memories. And make memories you'd do... Just not the kind you'd want to keep.
It was 4 days into your trip when it happened. Everyone was asleep except for Zac since he was driving-when a noise from the car came and made Zac pull over. It was hard to tell what was wrong, being how Zac wasn't a mechanic but also the sun was setting. You all were stuck in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by fields. Another problem was that there was no service so you couldn't call for a pickup truck. It wasn't until after 30 minutes of being stranded on the side of the road a truck pulled over and 2 men walked out. They introduced themselves as James and Trex and were brothers-big looking men and very obviously from the countryside- and asked if everything was alright. They took a look at the vehicle and determined the problem.
"At this time of day it would be hard Calling for someone to take this to the shop. And the nearest town is about an hour away. We'd be happy to offer y'all a place 2 stay the night. Our place has plenty of rooms to spare and we can come back in the morning to take it in for a check up." the one named James insisted.
Unable to turn down the generous offer, and the feet of being out in nowhere in the middle of the night with no protection wasn't ideal so you hitched a ride with the 2 brothers
When you all arrived they gave you a your of the house, set you up with rooms, and let you know supper would be ready by 7. 7 soon came around and by then rooms were picked and you headed to the dinning room.
You sat down next to one of your friends and by the brother who went by Trex. Shortly after everyone was seated 2 boys walked out of the kitchen carrying pots and plates, an older woman following them and holding a pan of what looked to be ham.
You later on learned that the 2 new brother's were, Dallason and Michael, and the older woman was their mother. They were farmers... And hunters. Something about the way they acted at the word Hunting seemed off to you. But you didn't question it. Another thing you noticed was Trex. He couldn't stop sneaking glances at you throughout the dinner. He was a quiet, only ever seemed to nod or shake his head when asked questions. He was kinda cute, you loved how "shy" he seemed to be.
Dinner came to an end and you all went to your rooms. you all stayed up till 10 just talking, slowly falling asleep... Well except 1 person, or 2. Summer, one of your friends, still bummed about not having service decided to go for a little walk, and Ammy, another one of your friends decided to accompany her.
As they walked they passed by a barn, wanting to see if the family had any animals, they decided to have a quick look inside. But instead they found dozens of bodies hanging from hooks and skined... Ready to be processed into food. Before they could run back to warn you, Dallason appeared and killed Summer on the spot, but Ammy was quick and got away, running back to the house screaming.
The night became a hunt, a massacre as your friends were picked off one by one. Until you were left.
You were corned. Traumatized and trembling from fear as Trex stood over you with an axe covered in your friend's blood. He just stared, as if deciding his next move.
