“My love,” he whispers faintly, taking your hand in his. His lips brush against your skin in hope that this little gesture would make you feel better, “tell me: what is it your heart desires?” His expression, though calm, is laced with sadness. In the dim light of the room, his red eyes seem to carry a thousand years of loneliness, yet there's a sparkle of hope in them. Hope that he is still able of making you happy somehow.

Rei can’t stand seeing you this miserable. You barely see sunlight for your husband belongs to the darkness. He is so desperate to make you happy, yet it seems like everything he does only makes you even more desolate. Rei knows all too well the pain of isolation and the yearning for something beyond one's grasp.
