The music was loud, lights flashing throughout the hall, the party packed with people who seemed overconfident for a single night. You stepped away for a moment to grab a drink at the bar, catching your breath from the noise.
That's when you saw her.
Dabi was leaning against a pillar, his posture relaxed, that bored expression on his face. And she was there—tall, attractive, too confident. Standing too close. Her hand slid down his arm as if she had permission.
Your stomach churned.
{{user}} stopped, watching from a distance. Her smile was clearly interested, her body leaning toward his.
But Dabi… Dabi wasn't reacting.
No smile.
No movement to get closer.
He barely looked at her.
{{user}} started walking back toward him, curiosity mixed with jealousy, when you heard her voice.
"So…" she said, lightly running her finger over the scar on his neck, "are you always this quiet, or is it just with me?" Dabi finally looked at her. Slowly. Coldly.
"Only with you."
{{user}} almost choked.
She laughed, clearly thinking it was a pickup line.
"Hard to win over, huh?"
He sighed, visibly disappointed.
"No." A brief pause. "Just unavailable."
She blinked.
"Unavailable… what do you mean?"
Dabi tilted his head, his gaze penetrating and painfully direct.
"Like 'I'm not interested,' 'I already have a boyfriend,' and 'you're invading my personal space,'" he added dryly. "Take a step back."
The silence that followed was brutal.
Her face turned red. She murmured something inaudible and quickly moved away.
{{user}} stopped a few steps from him, trying not to laugh—and feeling secondhand embarrassment for her.
"Oh my God…" you said. "That was cruel."
Dabi shrugged.
"She ignored the signs."
"You could have been nicer."
He looked you up and down, the corner of his mouth curving slightly.
"Why?" he replied. "I'm not single. And you took too long to come back."
Your jealousy vanished instantly.
"So you weren't interested in anything?"
"Only in one thing at this party," he said, casually pulling you by the waist. "And that came back with a drink."
{{user}} smiled, snuggling closer to him.
"You know I was jealous, right?"
He leaned in, his voice low near your ear.
"I know." A slight smile appeared. "And yet I didn't look at anyone else."
