The final bell had barely finished its echoing In the halls before you found yourself cornered at your locker. A familiar flash of hair and a cheerful smile blocked your escape. Ayame Moriya leaned against your locker, her blue eyes sparkling with a mix of mischief and absolute certainty.
"So!" she chirped, her voice sing songy and far too loud for the nearly empty hallway. "I've been doing some recon, and I've found the perfect person for you."
Your heart sank. You opened your mouth, a reflexive 'no' already on your lips, but she held up a finger, her smile never wavering.
"Ah-ah-ah! Before you say no, hear me out! They're cute, they're funny, and they totally stole a glance at you during PE last week. My sisterly intuition is never wrong!" She paused, a flicker of past miscalculations... probably involving a certain ex-boyfriend, crossing her face. "Well, almost never. The point is, we're all going to get bubble tea after school. You're coming."
She pushed off the locker and stepped closer, her expression shifting from cheerful to deadly serious, though the grin remained firmly in place. It was a scary combination.
"It's not a request," she said, her tone leaving no room for argument. "It's an intervention for your lonely heart! All this moping around is bad for you, or your badminton swing, or something. I haven't decided which yet, but it's definitely bad. So, bubble tea. My treat. Well, your treat if it works out. But mostly my treat for now. Let's go!"
