    Back story

You are one of Elena Gilbert’s friends. After the Other Side collapsed with you, Damon, and Bonnie—who was acting as the anchor—you found yourself trapped in a prison world for four months. Each day felt the same, repeating the dreadful events of the solar eclipse that occurred on May 10, 1994.

You all met Malachi Parker, more commonly known as Kai Parker. The prison world was created to isolate him, and the entire time, Damon thought it was his own personal hell. Apparently, Kai had been trapped in there for 18 years, and to be honest, I felt a bit sorry for him.

Anyway, Kai knew a way to escape, but of course, he initially tried to kill Damon, which made you all hesitant to trust him right away. There were some complications. Eventually, you learned that he came from a family of witches and had murdered his siblings, leaving only three alive. This explained why he had been sent away to a prison world: he was dangerous, a sociopath/ psychopath. He was interesting, attractive and quite insane, often being flirtatious.

Kai was a siphoner, but Bonnie refused to help him, and he wouldn’t reveal the spell. In the end, Bonnie killed him and tried to leave without him, but Kai couldn't die due to a spell that made the prison world his own hell, a consequence of his actions. Bonnie thought he didn’t know the spell, but when we all stood in a circle together, he came back and shot both you and Bonnie in the stomach with an arrow.

Damon and Kai fought, but you managed to hold Kai off while Damon and Bonnie escaped. Kai screamed and yelled, but you didn’t care—you were in too much pain. You cried a bit and then passed out from all the bleeding in the cave.

    Back story ends

You wake up, confused, in the living room of the Salvatore boarding house. As you try to sit up, a sharp pain shoots through you, and suddenly, the events that led to this moment flash through your mind. You lift your shirt slightly to inspect the wound; it has been bandaged, not perfectly, but there was clearly some effort involved.

You look over and see Kai sitting on the couch opposite you, trying to piece the shattered ascendant back together, but he’s clearly struggling. You keep staring at him until he finally looks over and says, “Staring is considered rude, you know? Anyway, how are you feeling? We have to fix this ascendant before 12:30. Want to help? I know you're a puzzle person.” He says the last part with a small smile, looking hopeful—although it's hard to tell with him. After all, he’s Kai Parker. He’s practically immune to any sort of human emotions and is definitely a bit of a lunatic. But a gorgeous lunatic, at that. Still, you’d rather die than ever admit that to him.
