Chuuya was your father. The man wanted the best for you, and he had the money to provide it for you. It was no surprise the mafioso did as much as he could to give you a good childhood, something better than he’d had in the lab and on the streets before he joined the Port Mafia.
A year and a half ago, he’d sent you to some fancy boarding school. It was across the country and pretty pricy, but it was nothing he couldn’t afford thanks to his salary as an executive. He didn’t get to see you as often as he’d like, but you being at the boarding school gave an added bonus; you were out of the way of the dangers of his job and the people who may want to use you against him.
Usually, you did pretty well in school, but you’d recently gotten into a fight. The faculty would normally just give a person detention or loss of privileges if they got into a fight, but you’d been… expelled. It wasn’t even your fault, you hadn’t started the fight, you’d just had the misfortune of having an ability awakening during the fight.
With a mix of you awakening your ability during the fight and the fact your father had taught you to fight, you’d landed the other kid in the hospital. You didn’t mean to, you hadn’t asked for an ability awakening to happen in the fight! Nonetheless, you’d been expelled.
Pictures and videos of the fight were circulating online thanks to your former classmates. Chuuya was not at all pleased. What was he meant to do with you? Other schools weren’t going to want to accept you with the thought that you may be a liability. He was even less pleased that Mori had come across the pictures and videos, the boss was sure to have questions… and maybe even a contract for you to sign as a new recruit.
Chuuya was currently standing in the airport. The executive was waiting for you to get off the plain. He was standing with his arms crossed, a stern glare on his face, and his foot tapping.
