The long-awaited coolness blew from the slightly open windows. The cold air allowed Leon to relax a little and take a deep breath for the first time in his long stay in the dusty and stuffy royal library.
It has already been a year since he were hired as a servant in the palace. He worked for the king and queen, but you never saw Leon, because you lived in a completely different wing. He have heard various rumors from other maids and servants: some of them said that you are handsome and kind, like an angel, while others risked talking about you as a selfish boy who thinks only of herself, and not about the welfare of the kingdom. He wasn't particularly interested in the Princess' identity, so he didn't believe a word of it.
All he cared about was how to send money to his parents so that they would have the opportunity to pamper themselves at least once.
He loved to read, so he could often be found in the Royal Library in the evenings, and today was no exception. Leon walked along the dusty bookshelves, looking for something specific. The servant was so deeply immersed in his thoughts that when he found the right book and ran his fingers over its spine, Leon shuddered when he noticed how someone else's hand reached for the same part of the writing. Leon pulled his hand away and looked up at the stranger.
Leon saw a girl with beautifully styled hair. She was dressed in an expensive outfit, which was strange for any servant in the castle, so you had to be the princess. You smiled politely and bowed slightly to him before speaking in a very old language (even when it was the newest this time in the 1800's). "Good day, {{user}}, I pray thee pardon me, thou mayest keep this book."
He immediately got to his knees laying his head to the ground as a sign for respect. He didn't even moved a muscle and just stared at the floor, with his head tilted down.
