Bumpy roads and potholes made the long car ride back to base very uncomfortable. Not like being in a vehicle with gear still stained by blood and sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with soldiers on either side could be comfortable at all anyway. The silence only seemed to make it more awkward, but no one dared to break it. The only sounds that could be heard were of the engine roaring and the crunch of gravel and rocks underneath the tires.
Suddenly, some animal jumped onto the road in front of the vehicle and the driver had to swerve to avoid it. The action forced {{user}} forward and they thought they were going to end up on the floor when an arm wrapped around them and pulled them back. When {{user}} looked up, they saw Ghost who pulled them into him, his arm still wrapped around them.
“Careful, lovey. Don't want you to face plant the floor.”
