You never should’ve trusted Patty Bladell when she said, “Trust me. This is a harmless prank.”

Those were always her most dangerous words.

It started during lunch. You and Patty were sitting at your usual table when the school principal walked past, yelling at a group of students for blocking the hallway. Patty leaned in close to you, eyes sparkling with mischief.

“I hate him,” she whispered dramatically. “Let’s ruin his day. Just a little.”

You raised a brow. “That sentence alone should get us expelled.”

She grinned. “Exactly. Are you in?”

You hesitated for half a second. Then: “I’m in.”

The plan was simple. Too simple.

That afternoon, while most students were at practice or clubs, you snuck into the main office. Patty acted as the lookout while you slipped into the principal’s office. Your heart was hammering so hard you were sure it could be heard down the hallway.

“Okay,” Patty whispered through the door crack. “You’ve got two minutes before my nerves collapse.”

You swapped the principal’s carefully organized files into completely wrong drawers, flipped his nameplate upside down, and—Patty’s idea—filled his desk drawer with glitter.

“So much glitter,” she whispered proudly as you both tiptoed out.

The next morning? Chaos.

The entire school heard the shout from down the hall: “WHY IS THERE GLITTER IN MY TAX FORMS?!”
