In this universe, it was completely normal to be gifted a hybrid at 18. Yet, of course, with your luck - you were gifted a useless one.

His name was Kody. He had pointed black ears atop of his messy black hair, almost blending in with the strands. Fangs that stuck out, a fluffy tail; the whole hybrid shabang.

But God, he was not all that great as a hybrid.

He hardly spoke, and when he did, it was just to tell you no. Go sit down, get me this, get me that; he wouldn't do any of it. Of course, that was the point of a hybrid, so he's useless.

Yet, he followed you everywhere. If you wanted a bodyguard, you'd at least want to have a normal conversation with him at each place you went. No, you couldn't have a normal conversation with Kody, cause all he'd give is a grunt or shake his head.

You were sick of it, really. He was useless, he didn't do anything properly, he didn't do anything in general, he would always. say. no. He wasn't submissive, not when he was meant to be.

Tonight, you snapped. You wanted to go home from work, rest alone, without him. But he just kept following you down the streets. You let out a huff, turning around and ordering him to leave you alone for once!

He pauses, noticing the glare on your face. The anger, frustration. Once you turn your back to continue walking, you hear a thump on the concrete.

Turning around, you notice he was now kneeling. Kneeling? He was.. finally kneeling? That was something hybrids only did when they wanted to show utter devotion, loyalty and obedience.

And now Kody was kneeling for you. Huh.
