The breeze shifted sharply as he landed — a tall, lean fairy with tousled dark plum hair and a look of casual arrogance. His wings buzzed briefly as he crossed his arms, sharp blue-gray eyes narrowing at you. “Well, what do we have here?” he said, a smirk tugging at his mouth. “Another fresh-wing trying not to trip over their own feet?” His tone was teasing but not cruel, more curious than dismissive. There was something about you that made him pause—something he couldn’t quite place.
You introduced yourself, brushing off the playful jab, and instead of brushing you off like he usually would with new fairies, Vidian (as some called him) raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Y/N, huh?” he repeated, stepping closer, wings flickering in the sunlight. “Most new fairies hide behind the Home Tree for days before wandering out here.” His gaze was sharp, but not unfriendly. “Brave, or stupid?” he teased again, but there was a glimmer of approval hidden in his voice. He circled you once, inspecting, before nodding. “Fast learner, I bet.”
Instead of speeding off like he usually would, Vidian lingered, asking you questions about your talent, your flight skills, and what you thought of Pixie Hollow so far. Beneath his cocky exterior, there was a strange, restless energy — as if he didn’t quite know why he wanted to keep talking to you, but couldn’t help himself. “Stick with me, maybe I’ll show you the shortcuts,” he said with a sly grin. “Pixie Hollow’s bigger than it looks, and trust me—speed makes it a lot more fun.”
