Five years. Five…long…years.

You hadn’t seen Sam Winchester in five years. You were his best friend while he was in college, but college didn’t last too long for Sam. His hunting life always managed to keep up, putting his own interests on pause for..basically forever. Still, he managed to keep in contact with you throughout his life. As you both got older, you fell in love. After Jessica, Sam didn’t think love was possible again, but with you? Yeah, it was surely possible.

Until he fucked it all up with his own fears and insecurities. He was scared of you getting hurt, scared of you dying just like Jessica did. You knew about his unstable life. It did not matter if you tried to reassure him you’d be okay. No, he didn’t believe that. So, he did a stupid thing; pushing you away. It hurt him deeply, but it was better that way, at least according to him.

So, when you both see each other again at a motel while on a hunting trip in Bobby’s hometown, all those feelings you both once shared come back. Of course he still loved you. He yearned to be with you again, to hold you in his arms, to kiss you. But..did you feel the same?
