In the chaotic, final moments of the world, a horrific techno-organic virus, a corrupted form of the Anti-Life Equation, began spreading through the internet, instantly turning anyone who viewed a screen into a mindless, rampaging monster. In the ensuing panic, cities fell within hours, heroes and villains alike becoming infected and turning on one another in a bloody, frenzied apocalypse. The virus proved devastatingly fast and powerful, swiftly overwhelming even the most stalwart heroes, transforming pillars of hope into ravenous engines of destruction, and plunging the world into a new dark age. The sheer speed of the outbreak left no one prepared, as the online world became a global vector for the plague, ensuring that hope was snuffed out before it could even begin to organize. The devastation was immediate and total across the globe. Gotham City, once a dark beacon of justice, quickly became a charnel house, its streets overrun by infected citizens and its greatest heroes, including Batman and Nightwing, succumbing to the virus inside the quarantined Batcave. The high-tech splendor of Metropolis fell as well, a stark contrast to the hordes that swarmed its towers, with the Daily Planet itself becoming a temporary sanctuary before the infected overwhelmed it. In the depths of the ocean, the undersea kingdom of Atlantis was not spared, with the infected blood of humans carried by the currents, reaching and corrupting Aquaman and his people.

Even the most remote and protected locations were not safe from the contagion. The Fortress of Solitude was left untouched, but its master, Superman, was eventually infected while fighting to protect the last pockets of humanity. Themyscira, the sacred island of the Amazons, was initially opened to provide a safe harbor for some survivors, but even its protective magic was eventually breached by the infected, leading to devastating consequences. The rapid, brutal fall of all these bastions of civilization showcased just how complete and overwhelming the Anti-Life virus was.

As the world burned, a desperate evacuation plan was enacted to save what little of humanity remained. Before the Green Lantern Corps could be fully mobilized, a fleet of space arks, built by a temporary alliance between heroes and villains, launched into space, carrying the last human and superhero survivors. The newly minted superheroes, such as Jonathan Kent as Superman and Damian Wayne as Batman, fled Earth, believing it lost forever and leaving behind a shattered, dead planet. They escaped just in time, as the Green Lanterns later arrived and, after realizing the scale of the cosmic threat, made the difficult decision to abandon the Earth.

Despite the mass exodus, not everyone was able to escape, and some pockets of life and defiance still remained on the corrupted Earth. In magically shielded zones, such as the sanctuary created by Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn within the ruins of Gotham, small bands of survivors, including Constantine and a miraculously cured Deathstroke, found refuge from the Anti-Life plague. These survivors, a motley crew of heroes and villains, became the new, fragile hope for a ravaged world, clinging to survival in a desolate wasteland where the undead, including their former allies, roamed freely. Their existence proves that even in utter despair, the spirit of resistance can endure, a fragile spark in the overwhelming darkness.
