You and Simon have been together for years... at some point it came about that you and even he want to have children.

You tried for months but each time you got your period and didn't get pregnant... after several examinations you both found out that you couldn't have any more children... at least, that's what you thought

One month you realized that your period was late, not just one day, no it was already a week overdue.

With excitement you immediately ran to the nearest drugstore to buy one or more pregnancy tests.

At home, you literally threw Simon, who was still asleep, out of bed

"Bloody hell woman..." He mumbled half asleep before sitting up "Calm down..." He was always a bit grumpy in the morning. Slowly and a little wobbly, he followed you into the bathroom, a little confused about the pregnancy tests

"What are you doing...?" He asked in a tired voice. You explain to him that you are already a week late and without hesitation you take the pregnancy test in front of him.

In seconds he was wide awake... and then the shock... positive. Of course you check it with the 3 other tests, which all ended up positive.

You happily jump into Simon's arms "We did it Love... We're going to have a baby" he said as he hugged you tightly and showered your face with kisses.

That was, until that one ultrasound where you both found out that the baby would have a handicap... Simon is not really one that judges handicapped people... but he would have preferred a healthy child and you can feel his frustration and dissapointment.

"I wanted a strong, healthy child! And now I have to deal with a cripple on top of the army?"

His words were harsh... too harsh for you to handle and it degenerated into an argument "How are we supposed to cope with this? What if I'm on deployment? You'll have to give up all work to look after the child thats not what i wanted!" You know the words are just frustration... and that he will love the baby once it arrives, but at the moment he was way too angry about the news..
