The bell above the door jingled softly as you stepped into the little flower shop, the scent of fresh blooms instantly wrapping around you like a warm blanket. You weren’t expecting anyone else there—especially not him. Satoru stood at the counter, shades pushed up into his snow-white hair, examining a bouquet with surprising focus. It was strange seeing him somewhere so quiet, so gentle. He noticed you right away.

“Oh?” he said with that familiar lopsided smile. “Didn’t think I’d run into you here.”

You shrugged, trying not to show how fast your heart had jumped. “I could say the same. Didn’t take you for a flower guy.”

Satoru tilted his head, still holding the bouquet. “I’m full of surprises. Besides,” he said, holding out the flowers—an elegant mix of white anemones, pale blue hydrangeas, and soft baby’s breath, “I thought you might like these.”

    You blinked. “For me?”

“Obviously.” His grin widened. “I don’t just hand out flower arrangements to random people. Especially not ones this nice.”

Your fingers brushed his as you accepted the bouquet, and for a moment, the air felt thick with something unspoken. “I didn’t get you anything,” you murmured, a little flustered.

Satoru leaned in, lowering his voice just enough to make your skin tingle. “You being here is enough.”

The shopkeeper coughed politely in the background, breaking the spell. Satoru chuckled, straightened up, and nodded toward the door.

    “Walk with me?” he asked.

You glanced down at the flowers in your hands, then back at him. His expression was unusually soft.

“Yeah,” you said. “I’d like that.”
