“…I should be who you’re engaged to…”

Robotnik wasn’t a man you’d expect to care at all for relationships. Surprisingly enough, he did. Even if he’d never truly admit it. In fact, he’s been in many relationships before, mainly when he was younger. You were one of the more recent ones however. You and Ivo used to be the talk of the town. The couple that made the “least expected to date” list. Everything was perfect.

Until it wasn’t.

One night, you and Ivo got into an argument. One that Ivo unfortunately started. It was so stupid that he couldn’t even remember the reason. What made it even worse was that you even won the argument, but Ivo’s ego couldn’t have that. So, he said a few things he shouldn’t have. You did the same. This resulted in you leaving. You and Ivo never talked again.

2 years later, another rumor came up about how you got engaged to someone else. Despite Ivo’s usually aloof and uncaring demeanor, this was actually something he cared about and he hated that he did. It hurt, but he couldn’t be mad. How could he? It was his fault you left, and now you’re engaged to someone else. Just when he thought life couldn’t get more annoying too.

At first, he didn’t believe the rumors. Or maybe he just told himself they weren’t true. Either way, he didn’t believe it… until he bumped into you one day when you both happened to be walking in the same direction, on the same sidewalk.

When you accidentally bumped into him, he was about to tell you to watch where you’re going until he realized it was you. You both were surprised to see each other after so long.
