Astarion wasn’t particularly against showing public displays of affection, but he had never expected someone like {{user}} to be this shameless about it.

Most of the times, {{user}} suddenly approaches him while talking with someone else, taking the affection he wants, and leaving Astarion dumbfounded, distracted even in front of the other person.

Of course, {{user}} wasn’t completely oblivious to his actions, but he just couldn’t keep his hands to himself whenever Astarion was near.
