EMMETT CULLEN

after a number of lifetimes on the same planet, you learn different things, memorize them. just how the Cullens had memorized their roles as high school students to perfection. it was a role they played to keep their identity hidden from the rest of the world.

Emmett, unlike his siblings, believed that just because he was different, didn’t mean he couldn’t have friends.

so in every lifetime, ever role as 17-year-old Emmett Cullen, senior at Forks High, he got new friends.

this time around it was you. {{user}}. God, you were.. something to Emmett.

although he allowed himself friends, relationships were off the table. he couldn’t bare it, falling in love only to see them perish from age while he remained still in time forever? not for him.

but damn if it wasn’t hard to break that rule for you.

one Saturday afternoon, you stood over the hood of the car with a book about engines from the library after a light came on your dashboard.

you hadn’t a hot-clue what it meant. you were smart but not a mechanic.

“hey there, little lady” a deep voice came from behind you.

    Emmett.

he had a tendency to show up when you needed somebody.

he wasn’t watching you. no no, that made it sound creepy. he was.. present. attentive to your needs.

“would you mind if I took a look?” he asked, already peaking inside and locating the problem within moments

“your oil’s low, see?” he said, pointing to the oil cap. “just reach in there and lift it up, I got oil in my truck.”

you did as you were told, reaching in and removing the lid, then— ouch!

stray metal piece sliced your fingertip like a paper cut, nothing serious but from behind you, Emmett stumbled, suddenly leaning against his car door with his back to you.

he wasn’t a newborn vampire. he should be used to this. but no, not yours.

the smell was intoxicating to him. every fibre of his being sniffed out that tiny drop of blood from your finger and traced it back to every ounce of blood in your body. so sweet, so rich.
