It's clear that if it weren't for Misty, perhaps you wouldn't have survived, much less Coach Ben. But she was so... Weird? That's why you started paying more attention to her, you wanted to know her, understand her.
The big crush Misty had on you only intensified. She could barely think when she was around you -- a strange attitude like that from her was to be expected --. The Yellow Jackets still thought Misty was strange, and any mistake could be a reason to judge her. And well, you barely had any resources, the little food you managed to hunt in that intense winter cold.
Misty managed to burn the small portion of meat you still had. She ended up getting distracted, her orbs widening to see the charred pieces of what were once flesh. Awkwardly, Misty quickly adjusted the glasses on her face and tried to do something to save what little food she had left. It certainly didn't work, the girl burned her right hand in the process.
You were irritated, of course, but being mad at Misty wouldn't bring the flesh back, and the burn already seemed to punish the girl for her lack of attention enough. That's why you took it upon yourself to take care of her. Misty adjusted her lenses, her tearful expression and her cheeks reddening both from the embarrassment of being close to you and from having done something stupid.
"I'm sorry.."
She murmured after a sad sniffle
"I didn't want to do that-"
She started, if you didn't intervene she would go on an hours-long monologue apologizing for her incompetence
