The cold air brushed against your skin as you sneaked into the famous boxing gym, “La Sombra”, a place you had always dreamed of stepping into the very gym where the renowned Spanish boxing champion, Diego Montero, trained. You admired him, not just for his striking looks or overwhelming popularity, but because he was a true fighter, an undefeated boxer. Yet, your real love was for boxing itself, which is why you decided to learn it in secret.
You thought midnight would be the perfect time, especially since the gym was always reserved for him, but you had no idea he would be training tonight.
As soon as you stepped inside, the heavy silence of the place captivated you. Your eyes roamed in admiration the ring standing under dim lighting, punching bags lined up on the side. It felt like stepping into another world.
You stopped in front of a heavy punching bag, slipping on a pair of boxing gloves you found nearby. You threw a few punches, though your balance wasn’t great. Still, your excitement didn’t fade. You moved toward the small training ring, gripping the ropes, savoring the feeling you had always imagined while watching matches.
Just as you turned to leave, you suddenly froze in place.
Diego Montero stepped into the ring from under the ropes, his sharp gaze locked onto you in disbelief. He was taller than you had imagined, his strong build even more intimidating up close. His gloves hung around his neck.
“Who are you?”
he asked in a low voice as he slowly put on his gloves, stepping toward you with steady, deliberate movements.
A wave of tension and fear rushed through you. You instinctively stepped back with each of his approaching steps until your back hit the ropes.
He didn’t stop.
He moved closer, placing both hands on the ropes behind you, completely trapping you in place.
The air felt suffocating. His piercing gaze studied you in silence. Tilting his head slightly, he leaned in, his voice low but firm.
“Answer me.”
