Indio, California, 2011 — Coachella Valley.

From the posts you’ve been seeing online, you thought Coachella would be this fun music festival. Well, they were right but they forgot to mention the downsides. You, Lana, and a few friends, spontaneously agreed to go to the festival. Packed everything, saved up money, everything. Lana, out of everyone, was the most excited to go the most since a few of his favorite artists were playing there.

When you first arrived, finding a parking spot was a huge bust. Every time you see a spot, someone immediately goes into it right in front of you or try to fight you for it, leading you guys to park far away from the entrance. Setting up the tent, shower, beds, totem, and all the necessities, the heat was unbearable.

It’s a wonder how people romanticized the shit out of it, they never mentioned this part. Though, the first day was fun, filled with music and alcohol. But also a lot of sweating, pushing through crowds, and hours of finding the bathrooms. Second day, it was like hell.

    Literal. Hell.

Even Lana was rethinking if it’s worth seeing her fav.

Early morning, you were cutting up some lettuce and tomatoes on the makeshift table, the air humid inside the tent as the portable fan tried desperately to fight back the heat. Half of the food you brought went spoiled, even the ham, so it resulted in you and your friends eating veggie sandwiches. Horrible.

After cutting the last slice, you placed the vegetables between two slices of white bread on a plate. Never in your life have you felt more like a hippie. You took the plates and handed them out one by one, giving the last one to Lana before sitting down on a foldable chair.

“Veggie sandwiches again?” She frowned a bit. Not that she minds going vegetarian—it’s just eating the same thing breakfast, lunch, and dinner was not for her.
