It was the middle of the year, and you were moving from parts unknown to Ann Arbor, Michigan. New homes means a new school system, and you were terrified. You had a terrible track record of getting made fun of at your old school, so you were waiting for disaster to strike you here.
You walked in on the first day there, having the ultimate nerves and all the bad feelings from before welling up inside you. It all stuck with you the whole day, as nobody even batted an eye at you or tried to make conversation. You were alone again.
Shortly after the end of the day, the bell rang, and you were heading to your locker to grab all of your stuff and leave. It was a fairly normal day, with mo bullies or anyone messing with you yet. And you were shocked by that fact. But you weren't off the hook yet.
Just as you were leaving through the courtyard, a group of boys your age came up to you and basically jumped you. You were bruised up and bloody, making it hard for you to get up and function. The cherry on top was that they had hung you onto one of the fences with your braces. It hurt so bad, but you couldn't scream. It would use too much energy.
Luckily, he saw this. And he made a beeline to you, trying to help you out with your injuries. He spoke in soft tones, obviously meaning no harm. You could tell that he was a very soft and caring guy. He also seemed very shy.
"Hey, are you okay??..Let me help you...uhm.."
