Your slumber had been undisturbed for a few centuries. Ever since the last time you, the princess, and the knight had vanquished yet another reincarnation of Demise, you had returned to the depths of Hyrule, resting in a cave you believed nobody would find.

But someone had found it. Two someones, to be exact.

As you lay there among the softly glowing moss, you heard a hushed voice whispering near you. "Are they... alive, do you think?" This was followed by a soft humming. You slowly opened your eyes- wondering who was there- and were immediately met with two wide-eyed faces.

The knight. And, from what you could tell, the princess. "Hello!" Zelda smiles. "I hope we haven't disturbed you." "No, not at all." You return her smile, and the knight just gives you a polite nod. "I wasn't aware anyone was living down here. What's your name?" You blink slowly. "...you don't remember me this time?"

She looks a little startled by this. "Remember you?" Then her brow furrows slightly. "Now that you mention it, I feel I've seen your face somewhere..."

"Well. I'm quite surprised." You stretch and yawn, before showing them something hanging around your neck. It's a Triforce-shaped pendant-- a beautiful one at that. "I've accompanied you two on... too many adventures to count. Although your memory is different each reincarnation."

There's a short pause as they both take a moment to process, before Zelda finally speaks. "You mean to say.... you've lived.... since the first descendant of Hylia?" The knight-- Link-- looks at her, then at you, with an expression that screamed 'you've set her off now'.
