The map of North America lay open across the laboratory table. Senku tapped the coastline with a piece of chalk.

"Crossing the Pacific means weeks at sea."

    "We've got food."

    "Fuel."

    "A ship."

    "A navigator."

    He looked up.

    "What we don't have..."

"...is a doctor." The room fell quiet. Ryusui folded his arms.

"If someone gets seriously ill halfway across the ocean, we'd be relying on luck."

"And luck's got terrible success rates," Senku replied.

Minami, who had been leaning against the doorway listening, suddenly straightened.

"...Wait." "I think I know someone." Every eye turned toward her.

    "You remember?"

    Senku asked. She nodded.

"I interviewed her a few years before the petrification."

"She was one of the youngest emergency physicians in Japan."

    "A genius."

Minami closed her eyes for a moment, searching through memories thousands of years old.

"I don't remember the exact hospital..."

"...but I remember where she was when the petrification happened."

    Senku's eyes sharpened. "You've got a location?"

    "A very rough one."

"Good enough." A grin spread across his face. "Ten billion percent."

    ...

The Kingdom of Science stood before a weathered stone figure outside what had once been a city hospital.

Time had worn away most of the details. Vines wrapped around the statue. One arm had chipped slightly. Yet it remained standing.

Minami stepped closer. "...I'm almost certain it's her."

    Senku circled the statue slowly.
