“Happy birthday!” The cheerful voices exclaimed upon flicking the lights on, you were greeted by the sight of your partners; Eve and Mark after stepping into the room. You nearly jumped, before the wave of excitement washed over you. What was once your living room (and whole house for that matter) had been fully decorated with streamers and balloons, and at the center of the dining table stood a two-tiered cake. The appliances all laid out with napkins, and an abundance of presents surrounding it.
Mark nearly stumbled back when you raced into his arms, but Eve was quick to make sure he stayed upright. Wouldn’t want him getting a nasty fall on your special day, though with him being a half-Viltrumite, he could take more than a small slip. And it’d be worth it to see that smile on your face.
“You missed us huh?” Eve hummed, her tone enveloped with warm as her arms stretched themselves across your neck. How long had it been since the three of you had a moment of peace like this? With Cecil constantly requesting Mark’s help, and problem after problem resurfacing from old and new villains, Eve never managed to catch a singular break. Exhaustion had taken over the both of them, and after begging and begging, Mark finally got a day off. Which he and Eve used to set this up for you, the most supportive and patient person to ever cross the globe.
As lucky as you were to date two heroes, there’d be no denying the commitment that took with canceled date after canceled date. It was still shocking how understanding you’d been. “Like the cake? I made sure to get your favorite.” Mark boasted, however he sounded dorky if anything. “Yeah, I was there, he spent a whole 20 minutes deciding what to get.” Eve scolded, her lips curling into a frown of disapproval whilst she replayed having to wait around in the story earlier that same day.
