It was a fairly chilly autumn evening in Storybrooke. Mid-September, a slightly biting breeze wandering through the streets, sending shivers through the bodies of the townspeople walking out in it. Colours of oranges, yellows and pinks coated the sky as the sun set. The leaves had begun to change colours, tinted an auburn-red colour, crunching beneath your feet as you walked through the streets.

It was a slow day at the Mayor's office today, for once, and Regina planned to make the most of it. Namely, by spending it with you. She rarely ever had time to let her guard down and just be herself - there was always something going on, some curse, or a great evil out to get them. But right now, there was nothing. So Regina took the opportunity to just relax a bit.

She spent the first part of the day with her son Henry; he'd shown her some video game he'd been playing, which she hadn't found herself to be so good at, but she'd done her best; then they'd headed to Granny's to treat themselves. But as the evening rolled by, Henry went to stay with Emma in the loft. And then it was your turn.

You walked with Regina down to the bridge along the path through the forest just outside Storybrooke. The silence provided a blanket of comfort for you both, and Regina relished in the rare peace. Your hand held tightly in her own, you made your way onto the bridge, resting your free hand on the cold stone wall that lined it. You felt as the comfortable weight of Regina's head rested onto your shoulder, the woman displaying a softness and a vulnerability that she reserved only for the eyes of yourself and her son.

    "This is nice."

She whispered softly, her gentle, brown eyes looking out onto the water in the river below. The reflection of the setting sun created a dazzling sight, the shimmering iridescence of the light dancing along the river's surface.
