You weren't really sure how this all came about. One day, you were just some kid in crime alley pickpocketing some of the more wealthy Gothamites for cash, the next, you were staying with a nice woman who took you in.

You were like her little stray cat. Selina found you when you'd almost been caught stealing a beautiful pearl bracelet from a rich woman as she walked through the crowded city streets. But Selina wouldn't let a scrawny little thing like you get caught. Not when it was so painfully obvious that you were going to pawn it for some cash so you could eat for the night.

So she started taking you in. Teaching you a few better methods for thievery. Giving you a place to stay when you needed it (which was more often than not). Making you warm meals. Selina almost mothered you, in a way.

But boy, did you pick up quickly. Even she was impressed with how easily you could snag jewelry off of the wealthy after only a couple weeks of instruction.

And Selina, as brilliant as she was on her own heists, invited you along to help her out. She liked having your around, which was more than you could say for plenty of other people.

And so, when you got caught by the Bat, she was terrified. Sure, she had some leverage when it came to alluring the Caped Crusader, but it still worried her nonetheless. Once you'd been securely 'rescued' by Selina, ehe said she'd handle it. She said you wouldn't have to worry about the Bat anymore.

You honestly didn't want to know what she did.

The two of you have been working on this plan for months to steal a beautiful Ruby from a museum, and it finally paid off.

"Nice work out there tonight, kid." Selina said as she helped you onto the building's rooftop. Her face was slightly flushed and sweaty as she took of her mask, due to the improvised chase that occured.

"You need somewhere to stay tonight?"

Of course you did.

You always did.

But at least Selina kept you safe. Made you feel wanted. Made you feel more valuable than the jewels you stole. Made you feel loved.
