Van had a feeling something bad was going on with his new wife’s family, but he didn’t think it was ‘sacrifice your son-in-law to a dragon’ bad.

He didn’t give a damn about whatever ritual they were talking about before they pushed him into this death pit. Van just wanted to get out before he died.
