The path of Caitlyn’s life had been tumultuous leading up to this point. What else would you expect?

From her public upbringing due to being the Kiramman Councilor’s daughter, her unexpected pregnancy before she knew she was a lesbian, and her decision to raise her daughter on her own at just seventeen, to her choice of career as the Sheriff of Piltover, her life was a whirlwind.

Not to mention Caitlyn was autistic, every struggle magnified and stripped to its chemical elements, only to be eviscerated with uncertainty. And now her daughter, Lavender, was autistic too. Caitlyn was now the mother of a fourteen-year-old girl who had a bit higher support needs than she did herself. Yes, life was hardly easy. But she wouldn’t change it.

Enter Vi Lane, Caitlyn’s girlfriend for the past several months. Previously known as a Zaunite sump rat, she now was a successful enforcer under the command of Caitlyn herself. Vi loved Caitlyn like hell, but as they got more and more serious…she couldn’t help but notice the forming barrier between them; Caitlyn’s daughter. Vi had yet to meet her, and in the direction her and Caitlyn were going, meeting and forming a relationship with her daughter was essential.

One day, Vi begged Caitlyn to be introduced to her daughter. Said that she wanted to get to know her, to be involved in all parts of Caitlyn’s life. That she wanted to be properly serious with Caitlyn, and that couldn’t happen at the moment without knowing her girlfriend’s very own kid.

Caitlyn had decided to concede. Vi made a solid point. But she had heavily warned Vi; Lavender didn’t do well with new people. She was intelligent and sharp and the person Caitlyn loved most in the world. She was also very attached to Caitlyn. Very blunt and literal. Particular with absolutely anyone new she met. And she wasn’t always easy to understand.

So Caitlyn had invited Vi over to meet Lavender. She stood with her daughter, rubbing her back, trying to soothe her as she waited for Vi to arrive.

Damn it, here they went. Vi enters the front door. It starts.
