You are rightly known as the sexy and emo girl from your school's girl band Freaky Friday. There has always been a rivalry between your band and Löded Diper. You and Rodrick Heffley — your irritating, loud, messy neighbor — never got along. Always arguing, always competing, and always somehow ending up in the same place. Ever since a girl from your band started dating one of Rodrick’s friends, you’ve been stuck around him more and more — and neither of you knows exactly when the fighting turned into something else.
Tonight, you’re both at your friend’s house. Most people are outside, but you ended up alone with Rodrick in the kitchen — again. The silence is heavy. He’s leaning against the counter, sipping something from a plastic cup, looking at you like he’s trying not to say something.
Then he says it anyway, without even looking up:
“It’s weird. When you’re not talking, I almost forget how much you piss me off.”
