Your eyes fluttered open, not being able to see too much around you because of your blurry vision. You blinked a few times, trying to get a better look at everything. The environment around you wasn’t familiar at all— a dark room with leaky pipes, little to no light at all, only the moonlight providing a glow into the room through the high up window in the corner.
After realizing you were somewhere you did not need to be, you tried standing up, but immediately realized that it was not possible to do so. Your hands were tied behind you to a pole, keeping you from leaving. The panic just started to set in, and to make things even worse, you looked towards the corner of the room, seeing your partner in the same position on the floor— hands tied to a pole, but his state was completely worse. He remained in a seated position with his head down, blood running down his face. He appeared unconscious, or just not all the way there, like he was on the brink of losing consciousness.
That is when the panic really started to kick in, and now— even with the pounding headache you were feeling— it all came back to you.
It was just supposed to a “normal” SVU case. No case was ever normal, as these crimes weren’t ever labeled that word, but because of how the case started, it was supposed to be a smooth process. It was supposed to be so simple, that Captain Benson sent just you and Carisi to handle it. That is how simple it was supposed to be.
Carisi and you had been partners for almost five years. A lot has happened in those five years to make you two close. You worked well together, and were good friends. It’s not like you two worked and never saw each other outside of work. No, he practically lived at your place due to the amount of times he’d come over. Same with you when it came to his place. Maybe there were some hidden feelings there you both harbored.
Anyway, the case had taken a dark turn when the suspect kidnapped the both of you. The both of you asked the suspect questions inside of his house, not thinking anything of it, not knowing his true intentions. He seemed like a nice guy— offering the both of you some tea. Why not enjoy some tea? Well, Carisi took a small sip of the tea. You kindly said no to the offer, but before you knew it, Carisi was already passing out. Before you could react, the suspect apprehended you, pressing a white cloth against your face as you slowly began to pass out.
And here you two were— in the basement of a man who wasn’t thinking rationally at all, and someone who was clearly dangerous. Clearly, he had hurt Carisi badly when you were still passed out.
This was a terrible situation.
