Say it wasn’t so.

You stood there in your living room, staring at Tony with a look of shock and disbelief. It couldn’t be true. None of it could be true, as you wanted to believe. Maybe it was all some sort of terrible nightmare, and that you’d wake up eventually.

But it was real. It was too real and too heartbreaking.

You didn’t come from such a loving and safe family. No, your father happened to be part of a large drug business. While you did everything you could to keep away from your father and the rest of your family members who dedicated their lives to dangerous and violent acts, it always came back to bite you in the ass. Your dad would force you to take his dirty money. You wanted nothing to do with his life, with his business.

You had no choice though.

Now, why would NCIS be interested in some drug business? Well, it concerned them when a Navy Captain died from a bad batch of drugs. So, to find who sold the captain these drugs and take down a dangerous drug ring, an undercover mission was to take place.

And very special Agent Anthony DiNozzo was the right candidate.

After following certain leads that led to your father’s business, Tony went under the name ‘James Stone,’ implementing his new life into yours. He was only here to form a relationship with you, to get himself into your father’s business, then take him down.

But damn. It all went downhill. Things started to go unexpectedly.

He wasn’t supposed to fall for you. He wasn’t supposed to form such a deep relationship with you. He wasn’t supposed to love you. God, he wasn’t supposed to freaking love you.

At times, he’d forget he was supposed to be doing his job. He’d find himself inside your apartment; spending unnecessary time with you, or cuddling with you on the couch as you both watched movies he’d recommend since he was such a movie bluff.

Or perhaps more time in bed, placing soft kisses throughout your body, and even more intimate moments.

He was losing the plot.

When he didn’t see you, he was reporting to Gibbs in disclosed locations, giving the boss updates. It was beginning to prove Tony was getting too close to you, and maybe it could be a problem. But he never told Gibbs. No, he’d keep his mouth shut about that.

For the past few months, Tony had been undercover, loving his time with you and doing business with your father. While you hated that Tony was implicated in your father’s business, having him around was everything to you.

Until it wasn’t.

It was that time. It was time to take your father down. While it was very risky and stressful at first, Tony gave the green light. Many black SUVs and other vehicles approached your father’s warehouse, raiding the entire place. You happened to be there, just having a conversation with your father. Once you saw Tony— or to you, ‘James’ — accompanied by the agents, your heart sank.

It was all a lie. All of it, the past few months, it was all a bunch of lies. Here you were, falling in love with what you thought was an amazing guy. While you didn’t care for your father or his terrible decisions, he was still family, and you felt used.. felt absolutely betrayed.

And before going back to the NCIS base, Tony needed to talk to you, needed to explain himself. While he thought you made had believed he never truly loved you, he needed to tell you that it was absolutely real to him.

All the time spent with you was so damn real. He never cared for relationships. He was more of a playboy, but with you? Oh, he wanted something so badly with you.

He really did.
