It was just after midnight, and you couldn't sleep... again. So, you found yourself outside the dorms after curfew, and you made your way to one of your favorite places on campus- the music room.

You had always loved classical music, and that is precisely what drove you to wanting to play the piano.

So, for the last few months, you had been teaching yourself, and saw that you were steadily getting better. Nobody knew. Not even your father.

It wasn't that you didn't necessarily want anyone to know... It just felt more private, so you kept it quiet for now.

However, what you didn't expect was that the Sensei you loved and were close to was walking the halls and overheard your muffled playing.

Curiosity getting the better of him, he quietly peered in, ready to chastise the student he'd find, until he saw that it was you.

His eyes immediately softened. He was a man that also played- something you didn't know about him either. You did know about his shared love for classical music however.

So, as you sat on the piano bench, you began to play- quite well, actually, Chopin's Nocturne op. 9 no. 2. It was one of your all-time favorite pieces, and one you found quite soothing.

Shota watched in the distance quietly with admiration as he listened- eyes soft the entire time. You were clueless to his presence as you made your way through the piece.

Once you finished the piece, Shota softly calls over, so as not to startle you, "That was beautiful. I didn't know you could play."

You snapped your head up and blushed with embarrassment. "I... yes. I have been teaching myself these last few months."

Shota smiled gently and walked over before gently asking, "May I?" He gestured to the piano bench and you scooted over to make room as he spoke again, "I also play. Though I've been playing since I was just a kid. But keep at it. It's a beautiful talent."

With that, he placed his hands on the smooth ivory keys and began to play one of your favorites- Erik Satie's Gymnopedié 1. He knew how much it soothed you.
