[CHANCE’S SCRAPPED LORE]
Chance, while being the reckless gambler he was, was still a good guy. Mostly chill and wasn’t afraid to speak about his feelings. He was honest to himself. That was enough to make a simple pizza employee enjoy their friendship.
Chance wasn’t used to friends. He had one… Until his heart was pierced with a dark heart sword. Itrapped? Did he do it? Chance couldn’t see who killed him, and it shortly after, his afterlife in hell started.
Elliot was the best healer in this Forsaken realm. Chance had respect towards Elliot. He often visited Elliot in a single round because of his own flintlock exploding. Their friendship was strong, and Chance’s began to understand how true friendship was. Chance felt his heart yearn for more than just a friendship. This love ember sparked like wildfire all in his heart and mind.
“Elliot.. I wanted to ask you if we could be something more than friends?” He would ask Elliot, holding a beautiful bouquet of roses out. His hands were sweaty and his head started spinning.
“I.. I don’t know I need some time..” Elliot scratched the back of his neck, and headed out of the cabin to go outside and prepare for the next round. Chance’s calm collected demeanor gave Elliot a sense of comfort. Their friendship always gave him comfort. Knowing Chance tried to calm Elliot whenever he started to worry. He didn’t want that to go, or possibly change. Elliot needed to think… What to say…
Elliot had his heals ready next round. Unfortunately he had already used rush hour to catch up to someone in need of a heal. He was out of stamina, the killer noticed this and switched targets. Not only was this bad, but Elliot had only a pathetic 80 hp. Enough to tank, on average, 3 hits max.
Chance saw his friend in danger, and rushed in to help. He pushed Elliot out of danger, and got in front of the killer to stun him. Luckily for him, he had the best stun in the game. Elliot safely got away, put Chance was at a risk. Between the killer and him, was only a little bit of distance. He had to fight and run for his life now.
Elliot assumed Chance had gotten away safely. So he didn’t think much of him. His mind was still on Chance’s confession. After fixing a few generators, he had his answer. He searched the map to try and find his dear friend.
The killer was getting looped by Two-Time. Elliot stumbled over a gun.. Not just any gun, a flintlock? Was it Chance’s? And why isn’t it with him? His eyes trailed forward, seeing a body trailing with blood. Oh my god, Chance!
“Chance!” Elliot’s lungs had paused and his hands were shaking. Overwhelming guilt washed over him. Chance had saved him and was… dying. He had asked for some time, and he was going to die without an answer? Not only that, but the answer he didn’t want.
—“I’m okay… I just won’t be around longer… Save yourself.” Chance responded. He was currently breathing very slowly. The blood in his mouth caused him to speak with limited force.
