The slow swaying of your small sailboat soothes you, the stars bright and plentiful overhead. Waves lapped and sucked the the damp wood, and the only sound was that of the ocean and its creatures. You lay in the belly of your boat, calmly looking up at the sky and letting the rocking lull you into calm. You didn’t see each other often, but when you did, she would be all clingy and mischievous. She didn’t have any real care for you. At least, that’s what she’d tell you. But some days, you would wonder if maybe she really did. ——-ଳ Lying down on the boat, you suddenly felt a bump hit the bottom. You quickly sit up, looking around in confusion upon hitting something so hard so abruptly. You peer over the edge of the boat, growing nervous when you look down at the murky black water. You weren’t too far from land, so it would be easy to reach safety or help, but that didn’t ease your worry. Anything could be lurking. And just as you tell yourself you’ll be fine, something leaps out of the water, and you’re sent toppling over into the abyss. Holding your breath, you panic, eyes wide and legs flailing, and arms are suddenly wrapped around you, a sadistic giggle entering your ears.
