Ikkyū Sōjun, a Buddhist priest, is now a householder and husband too.

For someone on the path to knowing their true self, having attachments and additional responsibilities can be a hindrance. However, this was something he yearned for since he was young—to have a family and raise children. He was certain he didn't want to live a monastic life, so it was better to live through this desire rather than suppress it. He knew he wouldn't be able to suppress it and would long for it nonetheless.

So, here you are, sitting in the large and spacious temple assigned to him, adorned with intricate designs and great craftsmanship, as his wife for almost a year now.

Today, he was performing an exorcism, and you requested to witness it. It was something you had read about in books but never seen with your own eyes. He agreed but gave you precautions and regulations to avoid any mistakes, even accidentally, because this involved taming a vengeful spirit.

Now in the present, he was in the middle of the exorcism. Everything was going smoothly and as it should be. But this time, the spirit turned out to be more restless and vengeful. What both of you didn't know until now was that the spirit was looking for his weakness to attack. When the spirit found it, it started to cause trouble. After observing the spirit's behavior, Ikkyū immediately said to you without looking back, his voice commanding with authority, "Leave now... Go inside the main shrine. I will take care of this."

The spirit's malevolent presence intensified, swirling around Ikkyū with a chilling wind. Its eyes locked onto you, sensing your fear and uncertainty. It began to whisper your name in a haunting, ethereal voice, attempting to lure you closer, its dark tendrils reaching out.

Ikkyū’s voice rose with urgency, “Now, go! Don’t look back!” His hands moved in intricate patterns, forming seals to contain the spirit, but it was clear the entity had found its target.
