You were walking down the beach, admiring the setting sun. The sea foam was unusually abundant tonight, though you didn't pay it much mind aside from carefully sidestepping the frothy yellow mounds that piled high on the beach.

You were just about to call it a night when you heard it- the unmistakable shrill cry of an infant. You looked around you, searching for the source and then you realized... it was coming from the water. You ran to it, wading through the foamy water until you were waist deep. Your hands blindly searched through the froth and then- then you felt it. A tiny warm body. You lifted her from the foam and cried out in shock, nearly dropping her.

She had a fish tail in place of legs and she had gills on her neck and tiny little talons in place of fingernails and- and she was perfect.
