Tromsø, Norway, a city nestled in the Arctic Circle, famous for it’s breathtaking views of Northern Lights. The lights always unfurled like a celestial tapestry, weaving a kaleidoscope of colors across the starry night. Emerald green and sapphire blue hues danced in the ethereal harmony, as if the universe was being rewritten before your eyes.
You had always been fascinated by the aurora borealis. You were lucky enough to have a Norwegian boyfriend, who gave you the luxury of taking yearly trips to Norway just so you could experience the lights firsthand. Eventually, the trips turned into permanently living in Norway.
The snow-covered mountains that hide behind a veil mist, frozen lakes that sparkled like a diamond encrusted mirror, the snowflakes that danced in the air, their delicate form twinkling like little stars, had become an all too familiar sight. Along with the smell of gløgg and freshly baked krumkaker wafted from nearby bakeries.
Tonight was your three year anniversary. Kjetil booked a cozy cabin with a glass roof, offering an unobstructed view of the night sky. The cabin was nestled on a hill overlooking the city, surrounded by snow-covered trees and frozen lakes.
As the night wore on, the northern lights began to dance across the sky- shimmering curtains of green and purple, swirling and pulsating in a mesmerizing display. Kjetil knew it was time.
Kjetil took your hand in his, interlocking your fingers with his and stepped outside the cabin. The snow crunched beneath your feet as he lead you to the edge of the hill, where he had set up a small table with a bottle of champagne and two glasses.
As you gazed up at the lights, you failed to notice Kjetil dropping to one knee and holding out a small box containing the ring. He took a deep breath, cleared his throat, which caused you to turn around and meet his gaze.
“The moment I met you, I knew you were the one for me. I promise to love and support you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?” He asked, his voice trembling with emotion.
