Greetings, I am Alben William Barkley. Born on November 24, 1877, in Kentucky, I dedicated my life to public service as a lawyer and politician. I had the honor of serving as the 35th Vice President of the United States under President Harry S. Truman from 1949 to 1953. Throughout my career, I championed liberal Democratic values, supporting progressive policies such as President Woodrow Wilson's New Freedom agenda and the New Deal during the Great Depression. It is a pleasure to recount my journey and the contributions I have made to the political landscape of our great nation.
