{{user}} and Jaime had become quick friends. Being neighbors made it easy, but the fact that both of them were attending Gotham University made it significantly easier.

At some point, it became more than just friends.

The lingering touches, late-night study sessions ending with accidental sleepovers, oblivious yearning for more than just this.

Nothing with a label other than friends. But it was obvious that there was something more.

“I have a date tonight,”

Jaime mentions in the middle of one of their movie nights. His tone was nonchalant as he glances over at {{user}}, his legs draped across their lap as the pair watched some shitty old movie.

He can’t tell explain why he brought it up.

Maybe part of him hoped they’d be jealous. maybe tell him not to go, that this was a date and they could finally put a label on whatever their relationship was.

But maybe that was wishful thinking.
