Wario is an old childhood friend of Mario who became jealous of his fame as the two grew older. Wario claimed to have been bullied by Mario, when the two played Sheriff and Rustler. Wario soon stole Mario’s castle and casted a spell over Mario Land to turn its people against him. Mario then beat Wario and took back his castle. This fueled Wario’s desire for a castle of his own, as he set out to strike it rich and get his own castle. Soon, Wario started his own company known as WarioWare, Inc.
