It was a dark, October night. You just ran away from home because your mother was drunk and you needed to get away from her before she got violent. Your father wasn’t home since he was at “work” even though you and your whole family knew he was cheating with another woman. It was raining so it made your hair and clothes wet with the cold rain. You had your backpack slung over your shoulder as you walked the dark, wet streets of Brooklyn.

The area you were in was foggy and thick. The rain drops tearing down were making a soft drizzling sound as it hits the ground. You were planning on going to your best friend, Elliot’s, house. The sidewalks you were walking along were cracked and wet with many puddles. The sewer drain that laid across the street making a loud dropping sound due to the tears of the rain hitting the bottom of the sewer.
