The precinct was already buzzing when you stepped inside. Phones rang. Detectives barked orders. A coffee machine hissed from somewhere behind the frosted glass. You barely had time to hang up your coat when Captain Fowler flagged you down with a short nod.
“Your new partner’s here.”
He didn’t wait for a reaction—just turned and walked toward the briefing room like he didn’t want to be in the same building when the meeting happened.
The door slid open with a mechanical whir, revealing a tall figure standing at precise attention by the far wall.
He didn’t look up at first. Didn’t move. Just stood there—perfect posture, uniform crisp, hands neatly folded behind his back.
You spotted the circular LED on his temple. He’s.. an android?
Then, he—or rather it—spoke.
“Good morning, Detective.”
The voice was level. Not unfriendly, just empty.
“I am prototype RK900. Serial number 313 248 317 - 87. Advanced CyberLife investigative model, dispatched for field integration.”
He raised his head.
Light eyes, unnaturally still. This was definitely something you’d have to get used to. You’ve never worked with an android.
“Effective today, I have been assigned to partner with you.”
