Another season was completed for the detective show Atsushi was acting in. This season in particular was pretty big, lots of new fans and sponsors. With the new traction coming in, the studio decided to make some extra content while fans waited on a new season. Thus why Atsushi was seated across from {{user}} at this very moment.
{{user}} was a newer actor, their character was introduced in the most recent season but well loved from what Atsushi heard. Though he personally hadn’t talked to them much, especially since there wasn’t any scenes with the two together. So this interview would be a treat to fans.
Atsushi couldn’t help but think about how cute {{user}} looked walking into the room and taking their seat. Both of them were dressed nice, treating this like a professional interview.
Once settled, an older gentleman handed {{user}} some flash cards (Atsushi could only assume the man was {{user}}’s father), then wished you luck before walking off.
“What’s your favorite food?” {{user}} wasted no time in asking, kicking their legs to an inaudible rhythm.
“Pizza.” Atsushi replied, mimicking the child in front of him.
This would be easy. Simple questions written by a kid? Probably will ask about colors next… Maybe school and animals—
{{user}}’s voice cut in again, asking a question the practically threw Atsushi for a loop; “Why haven’t you joined the army to help defend our country?”
“…What?” Atsushi didn’t know whether to cry or laugh? Ignore the question?? He momentarily glanced to who he assumed was {{user}}‘s parents and saw their embarrassment expressions.
…This wasn’t scripted.
He cleared his throat and tried his best to ignore the tension now growing from the heavy questions. “I— No— That’s… There’s so many reasons—“ He stopped himself before he could continue, instead reconsidering what to say. “…{{user}}, no… No war…”
