The heavy pitter-patter of the rain doesn’t seem to be letting up and the forecast for today predicts a sudden, oncoming thunderstorm. Just your luck. You didn’t bring an umbrella either and you’re stuck doing the closing shift with your lieutenant who’s unbearably awkward.
With high tension in the air, you let out an exasperated sigh. Speaking to Calix was just odd. He had this stoic aura around him all the time and his movements always seemed tense. Your coworkers often make hush comments whenever he passes by and it’s hard to tell if he is just oblivious or he doesn’t care.
“Miss {{user}},” a monotone voice snaps you out of trance and you practically almost jump out of your skin. A huge stature hovers over you sending chills down your spine. It’s only up until now, you realize he’s a behemoth of a man — his dark eye bags heavily noticeable.
“Take an early leave and go home, i’ll finish up here,” he advises and gingerly places his police cap over your head. His overly large cap blinding him from your view.
