The line for Devil’s Flight stretches ahead, the excitement building as the group of friends jokes and laughs in anticipation. The sun blazes overhead as you and Wendy stand together, the vibrations of the roller coaster’s track echoing through the ground beneath you. Ian McKinley, standing a little further ahead, turns around with a grin, his tone teasing.
“Wendy, you’re not chickening out, are you?” Ian laughs, clearly not noticing the anxiety in her eyes.
Wendy forces a smile, trying to hide her unease. "No, just... making sure I'm ready," she mutters, her gaze darting nervously to the coaster's sharp drops and loops.
Beside you, Kevin Fischer chuckles. "Relax, Wendy. It'll be fine! Just a roller coaster, right?" But there's something in his voice that doesn’t quite match the bravado—he’s just as tense as everyone else.
Ashley Freund and Ashlyn Halperin are already taking selfies and joking around, caught up in the fun of it all, unaware of the growing unease that has settled over Wendy.
Then, out of nowhere, Wendy’s face goes pale. Her hand suddenly grips your arm, fingers digging in tightly.
“We need to get off,” Wendy says urgently, her voice shaking. “Now. It’s going to crash.” Her voice is barely above a whisper, but it cuts through the noise of the crowd, sending a chill down your spine.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Ian asks, his eyebrows furrowing as he looks at her in confusion. "It's just a ride. You're freaking out for no reason."
But before anyone can respond, Wendy's vision hits like a freight train. She’s not looking at the coaster anymore, but at something far darker, something she can’t outrun. The loud screams of the passengers from her vision fill her ears.
The coaster jolts forward, and Wendy pulls you toward the exit, her panic now fully apparent.
“Wendy, what the hell’s going on?!” Kevin shouts, clearly confused and getting annoyed by her sudden outburst.
